Join us for a fully interactive résumé development course for practitioners. Help your clients capture attention with highly customized résumés. This course will present advanced strategic principles and technical practices for the development of résumés and cover letters for the Canadian market. These principles and practices will develop your range of expertise in strategic résumé writing. This will enable you to provide custom résumé support services to clients based on each individual’s background, objectives, and needs.

This is an intensive 3-week distance learning course. This course is designed to upgrade your résumé writing skills and enable you to apply current theories, concepts, and measures in your work with clients. If you are serious about advancing your résumé competency within the scope of career development, or if you would like to be granted your Certified Résumé Strategist (CRS) Certification in the future, you will discover that this course is designed to help you achieve your goal!

Advanced Résumé Development is designed as a preparatory and assessment course for those practitioners wishing to receive their Certified Résumé Strategist (CRS) designation. Upon passing, you will be fully ready to apply for Certified Résumé Strategist (CRS) certification through Career Professionals of Canada. Note that you must pay the application fee to be granted the designation through CPC’s CRS Fast-Track Program. Certification program costs are outlined on the Career Professionals of Canada website.

COURSE OVERVIEW

Course Duration: 3 Weeks | 15 hours per week (45 hours)

Course Prerequisite: Prior strategic résumé writing experience or a diploma in a related area is recommended.

Accreditation: Advanced Résumé Development Certificate (upon successful completion).

CDP-105 Program Format

This is an intensive 3-week distance learning course.

You will be expected to spend a similar amount of time on this course as you would in a classroom-based environment of 45 hours over 3 weeks.

This course blends videos, reading, quizzes, online discussions, reflection exercises, and small projects, creating a dynamic and interactive learning environment with a flexible schedule.

Proactive class participation is encouraged and required. Discussion forums enable you to communicate with students when it is convenient for you, rather than at a specific time.

Join this fully-facilitated, part-time online course.

  • You participate in the online class and complete daily modules on your own schedule.
  • You have full access to all course material at any time and day during the course.
  • You work along with other students in the class and participate in group discussions.
  • Your class instructor is available weekdays to review your progress and answer your questions.

CDP-105 Course Completion

Students must achieve an overall grade of at least 80% to successfully complete the course.

  • Online assignments and group discussion participation (60%)

This custom-designed, fully-facilitated online format is ideal for adult learners. When you register, you will receive login instructions by email so that you can get comfortable with the platform and program, and start your pre-course work right away.

The distance education format is a combination of videos, reading, quizzes, online discussions, reflection exercises, small projects, and final homework assignment. Your active participation in all these aspects enriches your learning experience.
